This was a small job in the winter of 2009.
We do not normally carry out domestic work but we have a strong relationship with property managers CBRE and were glad to assist on this project which had been abandoned by a builder in a half built state.
Underfloor heating had been installed on three floors but there were no records of the work that had been carried out.
We took advice from BISRIA and decided to survey the installation using a thermal imaging camera. With no mains services available, we used a generator and mobile electric boiler to warm up the hidden pipework.
The thermal imaging camera allowed us to “see” the hot pipework through the concrete slab.
We could then chalk out the route on the slab and transfer this information to a CAD drawing.
